How to Sample!/?

How to Sample!/?

This is the core of the audio industry. Samples.
These are the files that make up every single song we hear now.

A simple concept with a large scope depending on the role a person is filling in the musical expression/expertise. Artist vs. Producer each individual is going to make decisions on what samples are used, how they sound, and where they are sourced from.

As emerging artists work diligently to fill the ever growing burden of presentation, there is less time available for musicians to create their own original samples to source into their projects. The advent of Splice integrating into DAWs is only further conditioning Music Artists to rely more on making mashups of premade samples.

There is a great joy to be had in making raw sound.
There are few who know how to record it and put it to noteworthy use.

My personal experiences have forged my own opinion of sampling from one of simply cutting part of a track out; to that of, recording a specific source for a specific result.

Even if it is just a voice shouting into a mic, or a MIDI riff played back through a synth that originality shines through the click and drop cloud. Remember to think about what you're doing foremost, than take appropriate measures. Working with our own individually created samples gives off a more vibrant harmonic nuance.
No matter what stage of recording you're at or the tools you have, embrace including some of your own expertly crafted sounds in your next track.

What did I miss? Let me know in the comments below, I'd enjoy reading some other thoughts regarding this.
